Change

Its been 2 years. 2 long and eventful years since I was first welcomed into this human circus. I was browsing through the archived history of this very own site when I realised one thing. Change. Change have happened through all these years. I know change happens all the time but the change that I have seen just now is quite compelling. The skin of this site have been changed numerous of time due to Cold's demands as well as Fadd's ideas and work. Both of you I applaud.

The entries I read earlier on, those may seem important and cool to do back then, made me crack myself, and in the process making my mom guessing what is wrong with me. I would have done the exact same thing if I were to see myself doing that. Complaining about miniscule of issues like smelly people in train on your way to work as well as school, school itself so on and so forth. The words have progressively morphed to be more and more complicated to the point I am wondering if those words actually do exist and if they do, what do they mean.

Pictures depicting us 5 playing soccer in the hot afternoon sun, burning our already dark skin even darker. Pictures showing 5 little boys trying to find each own's identity, with the help and support of the guy beside him. How 'kid' like we all look back then. MP3s still stuck in our eyes, serenading us as we travel to our planned destinations. Caps donned, glasses worn, loose 'big boys' shirts and pants hugged our bodies. A care-free mentality ruled our minds and rebellion is the way to go. We were king of our own world. 2 years and all that changed.

Fast forward to today, Dan the Man, finally fills his role in his society and is now taking is journey into the path a man. A man worthy of society (not to say he was a lost hope back then but you get the picture). Shan aka 'R' is still rusty with the alphabet but now sports a goatee. From being a kid, now he too is taking the same path and oath as Dan. From a kid to what I hear from the other's, getting engaged after his NS. How much he has grown. I wish him all the luck. Hidz, the hippie. Now more toned down and slightly more settled. Not as much sudden bursts of randomness and self-humiliation. Cold from his short but still curly hair to what is now as I call it, a stud look. Dannggg.... I'm glad I made him my girlfriend back then... Fadd, still as creative as ever.

I know the readers out there might be thinking what on Earth am I trying to achieve here with all these things said. I'm not trying to change the world for the better (that requires more actions than words), I am just trying to point out that change brings about things that both amazes and at the same time scares you. I am honored to have stood by the sides of the boys...men... as we all grew up in this shrewd world. To have been given the opportunity to learn from them and to emulate all the good that is in them. But those exact gifts scares the living hell out of me. As I stand before this screen and look back, I am somewhat intimidated and made more confused as to what I have or could have achieved. Time had come and gone fast, too fast I would say. Einstein once made a theory that time is somewhat made of scores of pictures, like those you'll find on a reel of film. The present is a slice of the future, only to be replaced by the next shot.

I would have lost most if not all of the readers at this point of time since like I have said, most of you don't understand what I am saying. This not only applies to us 5, but to all. Just in case I happen to let time slip past me again and the next time I look back, it would be too late and we all may have walked down our own paths, regretting the chance that we had. The chance to live in the moment...Take a step back and reminisce on the past. If your lucky, you'll finally understand what I am saying here... To the men, I THANK YOU. FOR EVERYTHING.
